It’s YOU AGAINST YOU.
Mastering the mental game is key when it comes to motivation
It's Motivation Monday and I wanted to talk about how to get motivation from YOURSELF, and staying motivated. I have a lot of people that come to me saying they need motivation or that they have lost motivation . A lot of people are always looking over their shoulder for motivation around them or through other people. Don't get me wrong this isn't bad, this is great! But I want to Challenge everyone to improve their own motivation by changing their mindset and learning how to really believe in themselves.
YOU ARE STRONGER THEN YOU THINK.
When having goals in mind while exercising. Training your mind is just as important as training your body. The mentality you have is going to help you push through your workouts, no matter how tired your body is.
For Example: If you say “oh I can't do this this is too hard, or I give up, this is pointless”. Your body will hear what your brain tells it. So do yourself a big favor and be nice to yourself and your body. I consistently have to tell myself I can push through and remind myself the reasons why I want to stay fit and healthy and achieve my goals.
HONEST: I didn't use to always be like this, I use to be so mean to myself and my body, and that is why I struggled over the years accepting myself and learning to love my body.
DON’T WORKOUT BECAUSE YOU HATE YOUR BODY,
WORKOUT BECAUSE YOU LOVE IT AND WANT IT TO BE HEALTHY AND FIT.
The mind is a powerful tool and can be used in powerful ways. There are so many studies and books about how you become what you think and how your mind & body responds to what you tell it. The two books below are amazing about helping your mindset and really change how you think about yourself. Great reads that I highly recommend.
The power of the Subconscious Mind The Emotion Code
- Joseph Murphy - Dr Bradley Nelson
I believe mindset is very important when having a goal or dream within your vision. Keeping your goal or dream alive with a consistent positive mindset will help you achieve it in a more enjoyable way. Motivation to keep working on your goals and dreams will come more easily because working on the goal will be something you enjoy and look forward to work on.
Also writing down why you are setting this goal and when you would like to reach the goal by will really help you be more successful.
TIP BY JULES: I track my goals in a weekly and monthly planner, and tackle them by looking at them everyday to remind myself where I am at and how I can improve. You can just go through the motions of your goal, but its more rewarding to see how you are progressing in your own Journey.
